The first phase the mall will cost 25 billion Dirhams and it will be completed in three years.
It will a fully climate controlled development including eight million square feet shopping mall, the world’s largest theme park which will be covered by a glass dome, a wellness dedicated zone, a cultural district and a range of hospitality options comprising 20,000 hotel rooms. Once completed, the development will be welcoming around 180 million visitors annually.
Dubai’s successful bid for the World Expo 2020 has fueled the economy and infrastructural developments. It seems that Dubai has started preparations to host the mega event.
This project was launched by Damac properties and it is a golf centered project in Dubailand covering an area of 55 million square feet. It will include residential projects surrounding a championship golf course being designed by Tiger Woods. The plan also includes retail and hospitality products including a five star hotel and a luxury wellness centre featuring yoga programmes, herbal treatments, diet control and exercise; leisure & entertainment offerings, and organic marketplaces.
Dubai Parks and Resorts, a subsidiary of Meraas Holding, announced that the work on its three theme parks - Motiongate, Legoland Dubai and Bollywood Parks has started. Motiongate is a Hollywood inspired theme park concept based on major DreamWorks Animation and Sony Pictures. Legoland Dubai is the first Legoland theme park in the Middle East. Bollywood Parks is an entertainment destination that will showcase the authentic Bollywood movie experience. The project is estimated to be completed in 2016 and it will fully operational in 2017 with expected visitors of 6.7 million.
